If it is country madness you desire, then you should not go to Central Chile, where all the metropolitan chaos occurs. Instead, you should choose to spend your vacation in calmer, more relaxed places like those in Southern Chile.
These places in Chile are reminiscent of those mountainside sceneries you often seen in movies about Canada. It's beautiful. In one word, that's all there to it: beautiful.
