The city Rancagua, is characterized as one of the cities that best preserves the rustic traditions of the country. It is in the O'Higgins Region and is located 87 kilometers from the city of Santiago de Chile. It is near to this and other major cities across Route 5, (or Panaricana) and the Metrotren.
When approaching the city, the views are very beautiful, the valleys formed by the Andes Mountains gives a magical touch. Upon entering the city, the wide avenues with great commercial activity keep curious visitors busy and show the many offerings of the city.
Rancagua has a great historical value and actively participated in the liberation of the country, being home to major battles, and its inhabitants are very proud of the historical past of the city. With this history and the beautiful scenery it is not surprising that tourism activity has increased in recent years. The calendar of the city includes the Annual National Rodeo and Huaso Championship and Festival, both in late March. The Octobrina Fiesta, commemorating the Battle of Rancagua and the founding of the city, takes place during the month of October, and the "International Creole meeting," in November.
Without doubt a good suggestion to find the roots of the traditions of a country that has many tourism alternatives.
