The Mapuche conflict has been going on for over 500 years, but in recent times it has intensified in several areas of the continent - from northern Mexico to the cold lands of southern Chile and Argentina.
There are many stories about the conflict.
The Mapuches claim to be recognized as a nation and lay claim over the return of the land that the Spanish stole 500 years ago. But this has turned into a struggle without end and they have never come to an agreement.
From my point of view, the Mapuche defend their history, their belongings and is very interesting because the Mapuche are the only tribe that hasn't been colonized. I do not understand, the Chilean government's opinion about the conflict, since the information is quite confusing.
