Perhaps, it is due to the mysteriousness it exudes why Easter Island remains as a top destination looking for some adventure. How could hundreds of stone monoliths, called moai, possibly scatter around the island? What do they signify?Sadly, due to the immense popularity the Island has after its nomination in the New Seven Wonders of the World, the Island is attracting more tourists than what it can handle, making it fragile to destruction. Chile reserves the right to vote only for those who are genuinely Chilean. Expats are not included. In my opinion, this is just a good law since most of these expats are technically not citizens yet.Enlighten yourself with Chilean laws only here at the Santiago Times.
