'The mystery of allchile.net'

There is a curious discussion of this blog on All Southern Chile dot com

They found it strange that I wrote about their website in a post here, Southern Chile Real Estate Blog

My post is not at all strange as it is a brief introduction into a website I found interesting which is on the topic of this forum... chile!

They begin to claim this site is "The strange thing is that site is just a spam directory really". That is odd, as the directory here contains only links related to Chile topic. It is not sent to anyone. It is simply a collection of resources about Chile.

It is especially odd when they have taken advantage of the directory to promote at least 5 of their urls. That would make them significant spammers as they hold almost 10% of the entries in the directory.

The forum post also notes that this blog contains posts about their competitors. That may be true. What the blog contains is posts about websites that seem interesting and are about Chile.

They also suggest, "My biggest issue with a lot of those guys are ( assuming they mean well in the first place), is they are selling services that they are not qualified to provide. They know it, and thus they are scamming unsuspecting Expats"

If they are referring to this website, I am confused. We don't offer any services for sale. We offer a directory and delete many submissions that don't relate to Chile at all. We offer a forum, where again posts that don't relate to Chile are deleted. The same goes for the real estate section where owners or agencies can post specific listings.

This blog is also on the topic of Chile and though few take advantage of the offer they can click on the "You are invited to write for the Chile Expat and Travel Blog. Post Blog Item" link at the top of each page and they their views about Chile (of course entries not about Chile won't be published).

If someone has a complaint that a listing or other information is incorrect or fraudelent they can of course contact someone via the contact information on the domain registration.

As all the "services" we offer here are free, we don't provide specific customer service.

I did not mean to offend you, and I was just puzzled by the origin of the link as it seems to be a good deal of effort for someone to add a link to a site that was already listed on this site. That is all. I do apreciate, it simply struck me as odd.
