Thanks to its unique geographical shape, Chile has its extensive share of varying destinations that ply the different latitudes of the globe. On one end, you can be in hot beaches, while on the other, you can embark on a snowy adventure on top of the mountains. From the airport, you can then decide which kind of adventure you would like to pursue.
And that is why we are here to help you decide. We can give you some overview of Chile's top destinations, and from there, you can choose which one best suits your taste. With the great number of possibilities available, you'll need all the information that you can get!
Topping our list of the best Chilean destinations is actually not part of continental South America, and I mean the very famous yet very isolated Easter Island. This mysterious island has been under Chile's jurisdiction for the longest time and has been particularly popular for the moai statues that mysteriously erected themselves along the coast of the island. The original creators of these statues were never found, so we can only guess as to the representation of these statues.
Next stop is the city of Santiago, the capital of the nation which serves as its cultural, economic, and political capital. With snow-capped mountains of the Andes on one side and beaches on the other, it's like you've stamped Chile together into one metropolis of 5 million people. The architectural masterpieces are already a given. Just take a stroll into downtown and you will see what I mean.
Finally, if you want more nature and less human structures, I can suggest the Torres del Paine National Reserve, which somewhat reminds me of rural Wyoming: glacier mountains, lakes, and endless grasslands. The Cordillera del Paine, a small group of magnificently created mountains, form the central piece of the park.
Of course there are a lot other options, some of which we can feature in the upcoming posts.
So what adventure would it be?
