The governments of China and Chile signed a mutual "open skies" agreement that further liberalizes air travel between the two nations.
The agreement was made on top of a free agreement of 2005. According to the "open skies" agreement, any airline from both countries will be allowed to fly to or through any destination in the partner country. It was made in the hope of increasing competition in the airline industry.
